In March of 1954, Ruby's grandfather, Robert Hensley, a constable in Owsley County, was shot down by two gunmen (Clifton Gabbard and Earl Baker), when he and Sheriff Clarence Taylor approached their truck, which was off in a ditch on Buckhorn roa d near the forks of Cow Creek. Both Robert and Sheriff Taylor died of their wounds. -

Hannah is probably William's 2nd wife & he was likely well along in years by this time. Hannah herself was about 51 years old. There is no record of any children through this union. However, I believe that a daughter of William Marchant's throug h his first marriage was the wife of William or James Thomas. In 1789 William & Hannah sold the tract of land they lived on in UNION Co. In 1790 there is a William Marchant on the CHESTER Co. Census with 2 males 16 & Older and 2 females, perhap s combining 2 households.
